It was his first race in 13.5 months and his first for trainer Mike Maker. He's worked him since and Javier Castellano gets aboard. Can take this if able to avoid a possible bounce.
2nd pick: #7 (Starry Messenger) (3-1) - Kentucky shipper is one of three making heir debuts. Some of his works at Keeneland indicate plenty of speed is there and it's a huge plus that leading jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. is aboard. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Saratoga Charlie) (3-1) - He lost all chance when bumped heavily at the break here July 27. Despite that negative, he managed to finish 3rd and was only 2.5 lengths behind 'Sebonack'. He should be involved from gate-to-wire and is in the win mix.
4th pick: #2 (Secret Scholar) (15-1) - Longshot moves from turf to dirt in his third start back of an 80 day break. He's raced evenly in his return pair and is capable of getting a share of this at a very big price.
