Top pick: #2 (HEAR THE FOOTSTEPS) (3-1) - Veteran takes a much needed drop in class after racing evenly in his first three starts facing better since returning from a 7-month layoff on May 16th. Her's done some fine work here at the Spa at 6-1-2-2 and looks set for a big effort.
2nd pick: #1 (Captain Gaughen) (8-1) - Longshot came up empty here at this level on July 24th after being much more competitive in his previous pair. He has the rail and it's noted that trainer Jim Ryerson has John Velazquez aboard for the first time. Price Play.
3rd pick: #7 (Mr Rosenthal) (8-1) - In sharp form sprinting trainer Greg DiPrima stretches him out to a distance he's gone 3-0-1-1 at in the past. Stalker has returned from a 6 1/2 month layoff as an improved runner and is a win candidate.
4th pick: #5 (Majestic Raffy) (4-1) - Veteran raced both wide and evenly here when facing tougher July 18th in his first off a Chris Englehart claim. Six-year-old had finished a rallying second in his previous start at this level and strong stretch runner would love a fast and/or contested pace to develop.
