Top pick: #3 (HOT STONES) (9-5) - Lightly raced filly was very sharp in getting her maiden win here on July 31st. Valente home-bred just failed when debuting at Belmont two months earlier, and has worked fast since. The day's Best Bet.
2nd pick: #2 (Absolute Beauty) (6-1) - Speedy, well-bred, and lightly raced, daughter of "Big Brown" goes turf to dirt and shortens up in distance in her second back from a half-year's layoff. Has ability, and that latest effort has the look of a "conditiong" race. Dangerous foe.
3rd pick: #4 (L B's Expression) (4-1) - Very fast from the gate, shes' gone 3-2-1-0 in sprints with her only sub-par race coming in a two-turn contest. Unraced since late November, she's working fine locally and is in one of the finest barns in the country (Tom Amoss). Filly must be left in the three-horse win mix.
4th pick: #7 (Make the Moment) (6-1) - One run type rallied while wide to finish third here at this level on July 21st, and her chances are hurt a bit by a shorter distance and lack of any speed. A small award appears to be her ceiling.
