Top pick: #5 (MY ITALIAN ICES) (9-2) - Colt was bet down to favoritism when debuting at Belmont for a $20K tag June 29th. Colt tired after setting a pressured pace and was claimed that afternoon by Jay Servis. On the sidelines since, his new trainer wins at a 30% rate off the claim and at the same percentage off of this type of layoff.

nd pick: #6 (Ocala Jim) (2-1) - One of a pair from trainer Bruce Levine and the two maidens race uncoupled. Colt hasn't raced since June 1st and will racing in a climer for the first time, switches from turf to dirt, and shortens up in distance. Win candidate.

rd pick: #3 (Pete and David) (4-1) - The second of the Levine pair, gelding raced wide and had some traffic issues sprinting here on the grass on July 20th. Drops back down, moves to the dirt, and runs second off a claim.

th pick: #1 (John Silver) (6-1) - Debuting grey gelding is well-bred and his trainer (George Weaver) is having an outstsnding meet. Four-year-old by "Silver Wagon" has some fine works showing and draws the rail.

th pick: #9 (G W's Hammer) (6-1) - He finished a pace-setting second here at this level and distance on July 28th in his first off a 70 day break. Effort was a career best and 3-year-old can factor with a repeat of it.
