There appears to be enough early speed to set things up for his stretch charge. Gets a slight edge, but reverse your exactas with him.
2nd pick: #5 (Mr Sam) (3-1) - Gelding finished a solid 3rd when debuting at this claiming price going seven furlongs at Belmont Park July 14. He raced close up and was only beaten by three lengths. Trainer Chris Clement (19% second time out) stretches him out in distance (18%). Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Kangaroo Style) (7-2) - One of three older runners, he has early speed and last out finished a pace-setting 3rd, only a 'neck' behind 'There Goes Ben.' Working fine locally for his first since July 17, and he must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (Priest N the Rabbi) (5-1) - Lightly raced 4yo had some traffic issues when finishing 3rd here in a grass sprint at this level Aug. 18th. It was a positive effort and his first race in 10 months. He's worked since, and trainer Steve Asmussen will stretch him out in distance.
