Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (AHEAD OF PLAN) (2-1) - This highly touted colt has only made two starts, both on the dirt, and he finished 2nd in each. A son of 'Big Drama,' he sold for $475,000 as a 2yo in training in April of 2018. Trainer Chad Brown moves him to the turf for this attempt, has him training steadily, and Javier Castellano is aboard.
2nd pick: #8 (Vehement) (7-2) - A home bred son of 'War Front,' he's been competitive in all for grass sprints and enters off a 2nd place finish here at this level and distance July 11. Stalker has been given almost a seven-week freshening, and he should receive a fast and/or contested pace to rally into.
3rd pick: #3 (Real Money) (5-2) - Very fast from the gate, he's been freshened up since a pace-setting 2nd place finish at this level going six furlongs on the Belmont turf June 1. Training steadily for Mark Casse, $675K purchase shortens up a 1/2-furlong with leading rider Jose Ortiz staying aboard. An obvious contender.
4th pick: #5 (Tench) (8-1) - He's finished 2nd in all three starts on the dirt and showed a lot of speed in each. He fits on figures, is making his turf debut, and the mid-Atlantic based barn of Tim Hamm has John Velazquez aboard.
