Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (DUNPH) (7-2) - He's dropping in class while switching from turf to dirt and shortening up in distance. Gelding won his debut at Penn National Sep 15, then scored in a $150K restricted stakes at this distance Oct 28 at Churchill Downs. winless in nine starts since then, all have come in stakes, five on the dirt and four on the turf. In shape, he can take this from off the pace.
2nd pick: #5 (Walkoff) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, he's another switching from grass to dirt and dropping in class. He raced evenly here going longer on the turf Aug 8, but had won two of three on the dirt prior to that. From the Pletcher barn and he's an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Splicethemainbrace) (8-1) - Philly Park invader has good early speed and breaks just off the rail. Pa bred ships after tiring July 6 facing Optional-$50K claimers/N1X foes and his early speed makes him a threat at a big price.
4th pick: #4 (Olympic Village) (4-1) - A lightly raced 3yo by 'Congrats', he's been on the sidelines since winning back-to-back starts last Nov. at Laurel. He as a stalking style, has a good work pattern at Fair Hill, and is dangerous if ready. It's noted that Javier Castellano is aboard.
