Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (MALIBU LUNA) (5-2) - This is a daughter of Kentucky Derby (G1) winner 'Orb,' she rallied while wide to finish 4th of 10, beaten by 2.5 lengths when debuting here just 11 days ago. Trainer Bill Mott is having a hard-luck meet with only five wins out of 52 starters, but he has 20 minor awards, which tells you he hasn't won many photos. One of two entered with experience, she gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Lutescoot N Boogie) (3-1) - This debuting filly has worked well above average here after initially being prepped in Kentucky by Steve Asmussen, 62 of 346 (18%) first out since Jan. 1 of 2019. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Boss Bear) (4-1) - In comparison with Bill Mott, the trainer of this filly, Mike Maker, has won the majority of the photos his horses have been in and is 14 of 55 with only 12 minor awards. A New York-bred by 'Street Boss,' she's working steadily, and Maker has Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard. When teamed up they've won with 38 of 154 (25%) in 2019-20.
