Top pick: #6 (NUTMEG) (3-1) - Debuting daughter of "Lemon Drop Kid" ships up from Philly Park off of some solid works for trainer John Servis (18% first out). John Velazquez is signed on and that generally means that the barn is serious today.
2nd pick: #7 (Con Gee) (7-2) - Delaware shipper has good early speed and last out finished second there when facing three open-company rivals. She had a bullet work on Aug. 2 and is the only one entered with previous racing experience.
3rd pick: #5 (Cryptic Comet) (5-1) - Underrated barn (J.P. Terranova III) sends out this filly off of some fine works, both at Belmont and more recently here. Can factor and she'll be a square price.
4th pick: #8 (Gentle Cat) (15-1) - Top Finger Lakes barn (Chris Englrhart) sends out this longshot by "Bluegrass Cat." Trainer wins at a 19% clip first out and his "go to" rider on this circuit (Cornelio Velasquez) is aboard.
