Top pick: #7 (BOOGIE TOO) (7-2) - Gelding has been freshened up since June 2nd, when he finished second on the Belmont grass racing for a $35K tag. He's run well on dirt in the past, is working fast locally, and trainer Nick Zito will drop him down into a career soft spot.
2nd pick: #6 (Countercyclical) (2-1) - The probable favorite, debuting gelding has been in steady training here since early June, and trainer Chad Brown comes off a three-win day here on Sunday, two of which were making their first starts.
3rd pick: #8 (Spintastic) (6-1) - Gelding by "Bernardini" has been a major disappointment, and will be racing today off another layoff. That said, trainer Ian Wilkes has this 4yo training both fast and steadily, including a trio of excellent A.M. drills on this surface.
4th pick: #2 (Rum Tum Tugger) (5-2) - Delaware invader has finished second there in all three starts since coming off a a 12 1/2 month layoff on June 1st. However, he's lost as the heavy favorite in each of those, and this strong closer will be meeting a tougher field this afternoon.
