Top pick: #2 (JOE CAN GALLOP) (5-2) - Speedy sort set a quick and contentious pace and held to finish second racing at this level going six-furlongs on the Belmont lawn June 19. By far a career best, it came off almost a two month freshening, and he's the speed nearest the rail in this contest. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Summer Breezing) (2-1) - His career has been highlighted by several excellent races along with some lengthy layoffs. Son of "Langfuhr" hasn't raced since Nov. 30, but is in a top barn (Chris Clement) and has run well off of extended absences in the past. Very dangerous if ready with his best.
3rd pick: #7 (Party Mocha) (7-2) - Veteran is shortening up in distance after a come from behind win going seven-furlongs at Belmont on July 5. He has local experience (4-1-1-1) and has gone 7-2-1-1 at this trip in the past. Strong stretch threat.
