Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (LEEWAY) (5-1) - A lightly raced home bred, she's dropping in class after an even effort facing tougher here on July 31. It was her first since Oct. 14 and she had a troubled break that afternoon. She draws well, Rosario stays aboard, and I like this filly's chances.
2nd pick: #6 (Stormy Derby Day) (8-1) - Another lightly raced homebred, she raced evenly when beaten by seven lengths here at this level and distance on July 29. She has early speed and should be involved every step at a square price.
3rd pick: #3 (Tatterazzi) (7-2) - One of several 4yos entered, she finished 4th here in a good effort facing tougher Aug. 7, her first start in four months. She has a speed/stalking style and this $100K purchase must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #1 (Stuy Town Baby) (12-1) - Longshot drops in class after tiring badly here in a $100K stakes for fellow state-breds on Aug. 6. It was her first since a sharp maiden win at Belmont on July 11, and she runs off a private trainer change to Ray Handal. She has the rail and is a threat at a big price.
