Top pick: #5 (CHRISANDLORISPOSSE) (12-1) - Home-bred son of "Posse" hasn't raced since late March, but trainer Jimmy Jerkens has him woring both fast and frequently for this appearance. The latest drill, a half-mile bullet breeze four days ago suggests his readiness. Has a solid shot at a big price.
nd pick: #10 (Shot to Win) (4-1) - Debuting colt is one of two entered by trainer Dom Schettino and the pair race uncoupled. 3-year-old by "Roaring Fever" is working fast and can factor first out.
rd pick: #8 (One Red Cat) (15-1) - Longshot has some ability and races for the first time since June 15th. Trainer Chris Englehart adds blinkers (21%) and this Wachtel home-bred has an outside shot.
th pick: #3 (Native Singer) (3-1) - The probable heavy favorite, he's finished second in his last pair including once here at this level and distance Aug. 1. Blinkers go on and he's an obvious threat, but think he's beatable.
th pick: #9 (Bernardo) (10-1) - He's raced evenly in his last pair and had some trouble at the break last out. Draws a nice outside and should be competitive at a square price.
