Freshened up for 70 days, $1,000,000 son of 'Curlin' was a very sharp winner of Monmouth's Haskel Stakes (G1) going 9 furlongs July 29. Working fast here since he'll be tough to beat.
2nd pick: #4 (Bravazo) (10-1) - He gets a start for trying his very best almost every time out. Calumet home-bred finished second in the Preakness then ran on for the place spot last out to 'Good Magic' in the Haskel. Stalker is working fine locally and should factor with his normal effort.
3rd pick: #2 (Wonder Gadot) (4-1) - Very consistent filly takes on the boys in this spot. A winner on dirt, turf, and poly, she has a speed/stalking style, draws a fine post, and is a perfect two for two at this 10-furlong distance. In the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Vino Rosso) (12-1) - He rallied from far back to miss by just under a length here going 9 furlongs in the Jim Dandy Stakes (G2) July 28. Another son of 'Curlin', he seems to be peaking at this time and believe his best days are still ahead of him.
