Top pick: #1 (DOWNGOESFRAZIER) (7-2) - Grey gelding rallied from far back to finish second at this level going six-furlongs on the Belmont lawn July 2. It was his first race in eight months, and trainer Carl Domino brings him back quickly and stretches him out in distance. He has local experience, draws the rail, and John Velazquez is back on the re-ride. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #3 (Wake Up and Go) (5-1) - He enters off a solid second place finish at Belmont July 6 racing at this level and distance. In shape, and earlier this year he just missed at Gulfstream facing "open" maiden claimers.
rd pick: #11 (Hushhushmushmush) (3-1) - The probable favorite, he's rallied to finish third in his last pair at Belmont facing state-bred special weights. Drops down for this, is from a winning barn (Chad Brown), and is a strong threat despite the outside post.
th pick: #9 (Rontos New York) (5-1) - Lightly raced and improving, he's finished close up in both tries at this level, and last out was less than a length back of "Wake Up and Go." Must be left in the mix.
th pick: #6 (Island Therapy) (20-1) - He rallied from far back to finish 2 1/2 back of "Frazier" on July 2. It was his first ever on the grass, and he may grab a share at a big price on the stretch out in distance.
