Top pick: #2 (KITTEN'S QUEEN) (3-1) - Speed/stalker tired after pressing the pace here in a $100K grass stakes on July 20. Nice effort, she's worked three times since, and Ramsay home-bred should find this allowance field a bit easier.
2nd pick: #1 (Enchanting Lisa) (7-2) - Very lightly raced home-bred by "War Chant" rallied into a solid pace to finish third of 10, beaten just under a length racing here at this level and distance July 28. Race was her first on the turf, first facing winners, and trainer Charlie Lopresti has worked her twice since.
3rd pick: #10 (Divine Luck) (6-1) - Beautiful-bred filly has been a bit of a disappointment to date, but runs with her blinkers removed, and daughter of "Ghostzapper" has a bullet half-mile grass breeze from the gate on Aug. 16th. Excellent work is for a barn ("Shug" McGaughey) that rarely has it's runners train fast.
4th pick: #11 (Daddy Loves Gold) (10-1) - Daughter of "Scat Daddy" has talent, and stretches back out after a very trouble sprint race here on July 26. Speed/stalker fits, and has a pair of eye-popping a.m. drills since then.
5th pick: #4 (Can't Explain) (20-1) - Mega longshot has yet to show much since coming back from an 11 month layoff on June 16. She moves to the grass and stretches-out in distance, both for the first time. May grab a share at a very big price.
