Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (WACKY PAL) (2-1) - The main speed, he's finished close up in two straight facing tougher. He draws a good post, drops into a claimer, has blinkers off, and Castellano is staying aboard. Lots of things to like.
nd pick: #10 (Mr Vincent) (8-1) - He raced wide here last out at this level and had a ton of trouble just out of the gate. Competitive in his previous pair, it's noted that Irad Ortiz Jr is aboard for the first time.
rd pick: #4 (Sobersick N Sorry) (15-1) - Lightly raced 3yo has shown some abolty in a pair of dirt sprints. He races first off a Mike Miceli claim, has blinkers on, switches to the grass, and is stretching out in distance. Small barn is having a fine year 12 for 41 (29%) and this gelding is a 'live' longshot.
th pick: #6 (Big Wonder) (12-1) - A long time maiden, he has early speed and finished a pace-setting third here at this level Aug. 16. He's capable of getting another minor award, but a win would be a bit of a surprise.
th pick: #9 (The Happy Giant) (4-1) - Even-paced facing tougher, he's dropping into a claimer for the first time. Trainer Ray Handal is having a solid meet 19-4-5-0 (21%) and this 3yo must be left in the mix.
