Top pick: #2 (MISSION IMPAZIBLE) - He had a bit of a tough trip here in the G1 Whitney on August 6 and tired after racing between horses much of the race. He just missed at Churchill in his previous start the G1 Stephen Foster, and this colt is working fast, has fine early speed, and John Velazquez is back aboard for the first time since Jan of 2010. The top pick, he's one of a pair from Pletcher and they race uncoupled.
2nd pick: #3 (Giant Oak) - Strong finisher finished a respectable third earlier in the meet in the Whitney and has sworked twice since. Has been competitive in 11 straight Graded events and he would benefit the most if the pace was fast/contested.
3rd pick: #7 (Flat Out) - He hugged the rail in the Whitney before swinging off it and rallying to finish second to Tizway on August 6. Draws outside today, but has a "blistering" work at Monmouth August 18 that suggests he remains sharp. Very dangerous if he avoids a wide trip.
