Top pick: #7 (APRIORITY) - He had a very busy and successful period (7-4-3-0)in dirt starts dating from late October until early May and trainer Dave Fawkes gave has given a well-deserved three month vacation heading into this. He was 2nd at Aqueduct in the G1 Carter at Aqu in early April, then missed by a nose at Churchill on "Derby Day" in the G2 Churchill Downs H. Initially prepared for this with some stunning works at Calder, he had a nice "get acquainted" breeze here 6 days ago. The top pick in a very "deep" field.
2nd pick: #8 (Trappe Shot) - He's (6-5-0-0) in sprint starts and that lone loss came in his debut just over two years ago. An easy winner of the G2 True North on the Belmont Stakes under-card, he's run well off of breaks before and looks all set for a big effort. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #4 (Hamazing Destiny) - He finished a solid 2nd here on opening day (July 22) in the 7 furlong J.Marvin S. and that was his first since early Nov. "Hall of Fame" trainer D.Wayne Lukas broke a long local "dry spell" in yesterday's 2nd race and this 5yo by "Salt Lake" can factor with his best.
