Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (POINT OF HONOR) (3-1) - A talented daughter of 'Curlin', she's been competitive in all five starts and comes off a very strong effort here July 21. Going 9 furlongs in the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1), she rallied into a very slow pace set by the winner and undefeated 'Guarana' and while extending her to the limit. That filly is skipping this G1 and believe that the additional furlong and a projected faster pace gives her an edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Dunbar Road) (9-5) - A $350,000 daughter of 'Quality Road', she's won three of four and was beaten a 1/2 length in lone loss. From the barn of Chad Brown, speed/stalker has the rail and should be involved every step.
3rd pick: #2 (Lady Apple) (6-1) - This daughter of 'Curlin' seems to thrive on keeping busy and in her last three starts, she's won two stakes and finished third in the rich and prestigious Kentucky Oaks (G1) at Churchill Downs May 3. She won Oaklawn's G3 Fantasy April 12 and last out on July 5 she won the Iowa Oaks (G3) at Prairie Meadows defeating today's rival 'Ulele' by a 1/2 length. Filly worked fast here July 28 and the 10 furlong trip is not a problem. In the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Street Band) (15-1) - Longsot won the Fair Grounds Oaks (G2) March 23, then had a rough trip while racing evenly in the Kentucky Oaks (G1) May 3. Given a 10 week freshening by Larry Jones, she was an easy 3.5 length winner of the Indiana Oaks (G3) July 13. This is a much tougher group, but she's capable of getting a share at a big price.
