Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #16 (PIER FORTY) (3-1) - One of two that were entered for the 'main track only', he's moving up in class as he races 3rd back off a long layoff and first off an Orlando Noda claim. One run type draws a good post, has positive 'off' track experience, and Joel Rosario is getting aboard. I give this 4yo a small edge.
nd pick: #7 (Diannesimpazible) (5-2) - Even paced in most of his races, he finished 3rd here at this level in an 'off the turf' contest July 17. He's worked twice since and should factor with Irad Ortiz, Jr. staying aboard. A win candidate.
rd pick: #11 (K. K. Ichikawa) (5-1) - A lightly raced 3yo by 'Twirling Candy', he's switching to the dirt for the first time. He has shown early speed in both races on the grass, and is dangerous at a square price.
th pick: #15 (True Palace) (15-1) - Longshot is the other 'main track only' entrant. He's finished 2nd the last two times he was on the dirt and is capable of getting a share at a big price.
th pick: #9 (Selfmade) (5-1) - A well-bred colt, 3yo son of 'Tiznow' has finished 2nd in two straight on the grass at this level. His first two on the dirt last winter were against tougher and he's a better horse since coming of a six month layoff in late June.
