Stalker has finished 2nd in all three grass sprints, and she missed by a 'neck' here when debuting at this level and distance just over a year ago. She'll be very tough if ready.
2nd pick: #1 (Zaccapa) (5-2) - This French import is coupled in the wagering with 1a - 'Sevnteeneightysevn' due to common ownership. She finished 2nd of 11, missing by two lengths when going seven furlongs at Belmont July 4. It was her first in No. America and her first since a pair of 2nd place finishes in her native country late last Summer. A win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Let Them Eat Cake) (9-2) - A homebred by 'Animal Kingdom,' she's been freshened up since late May. Competitive in both grass attempts at Gulfstream, both of those came going a mile. Training very fast locally, she's shortening up in distance, has the rail, and Rosario takes the mount.
4th pick: #7 (Mumbai) (8-1) - The leading trainer so far at this meet, Chris Clement moves this filly from dirt to grass in her first since debuting May 24 at Gulfstream. Daughter of 'Street Sense' tired after showing good early speed first out, a contest from which the 1-2 finishers both won their next starts. It's noted she's been in steady training here since mid-June and that Irad Ortiz, Jr. is aboard.
