Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (GRINGOTTS) (8-1) - One of several longshots that have a good chance at winning this, she's dropping back down and switches back to the dirt for this attempt. She raced both wide and evenly when sprinting on the Belmont turf for a $40K tag facing fellow state-breds June 25 in her first race since March 14. 3yo worked a solid five furlongs July 13, and Joel Rosario is aboard for the first time.
nd pick: #10 (Happy Hill Lil) (8-1) - A lightly raced homebred, she's been competitive in two straight when sprinting at this level at Belmont. She had the 13-post in that pair and should contend today at this seven-furlong trip with blinkers on.
rd pick: #11 (Crick) (15-1) - Even paced 4yo had the 14-post last out when checking in 4th, a length behind 'Happy Hill Lil.' It was her first since early October, and she had finished 2nd in three of four at this level prior to the layoff.
th pick: #8 (Microgram) (10-1) - Repole runner showed nothing after being bumped at the break when debuting against tougher Feb. 9 at Aqueduct. She runs off a private trainer change to Rudy Rodriguez, and he has her take a big drop in class. The barn is off to a good start at this meet (11-3-1-3), and he has Irad Ortiz, Jr. aboard.
th pick: #5 (Central Perk) (4-1) - Filly drops after a wide and tiring effort when debuting going a mile at Belmont facing tougher July 2. Trainer Linda Rice adds blinkers (21%), and she wins at an excellent 26% rate second time out (19 of 76 since Jan 1 of 2019).
