Top pick: #8 (STARSHIP GAMBLER) (5-2) - She's one of two entered by trainer Mike Maker and the pair race uncoupled. Speed/stalker ships in from Churchill where she was competitive in back-to-back starts facing tougher. Working well locally, drops to a new low, and gets the call in today's finale.
2nd pick: #5 (Tulita) (5-1) - The second of the Maker pair, she was a sharp maiden winner at Belmont at this distance on June 30th and has improved considerably since switching to this barn in April. Threat right back.
3rd pick: #4 (Belongs to Dixie) (20-1) - Longshot closed out 2012 in career best form, but has not yet been able to repeat it since returning from a 4 1/2 month layoff in late April. Fits with her best and she'll be a big price.
4th pick: #6 (Melody Lin) (6-1) - She broke her maiden at Belmont on June 6th and defeated "Tulita" in the process. Win came first off a Linda Rice claim andd she's freshened thyis fill by "Curlin" since then.
5th pick: #10 (Snit Fit) (5-1) - She was placed firt after missing by a nose last out to get her maiden win and this grey filly has some late punch. Her outside post and lack of speed are a negative, but she can factor late if able to avoid a wide trip.
