2nd pick: #3 (El Asesino) (8-1) - A speedy 4yo, he ships from Kentucky where he tired late to finish third as the favorite going 6.5 furlongs on a sloppy surface at Churchill Downs facing $50K starter-allowance foes June 9. He had a rough trip battling for the lead while between horses and think he's a threat at a big price in this first-level allowance.
3rd pick: #8 (Hersh) (7-2) - He hit the gate at the break, then ran evenly when finishing third, 6.5 lengths behind 'Payne' June 6 at Belmont Park. However, it was his first since breaking his maiden here at this distance Aug. 4 and he should run much better with that come-backer out of the way.
4th pick: #4 (Uber Kirk) (5-1) - Stretch runner has been competitive in six straight dating back to late November. He's gone 3-0-2-1 at this level during that span and he rallied to finish second at it going 6.5 furlongs at Churchill Downs June 23. Colt worked fast there before shipping and is a late threat.
