2nd pick: #5 (Sol Del Sur) (8-1) - A homebred by 'Medaglia d'Oro,' he raced evenly when debuting here Aug. 1. He was a bit over four lengths behind 'Modern Science' that afternoon and is from a barn (Bill Mott) that is almost always better second time out.
3rd pick: #4 (Shirelle) (5-2) - A debuting son of 'Point of Entry,' he's from the barn of Chad Brown (21% first out), and he has him working above average. Irad Ortiz, Jr. is aboard. And when riding for Brown, he has won 79 of 306 (26%) since Jan. 1 of 2019.
4th pick: #1 (Venerable) (10-1) - A son of 'Tiznow,' he's stretching out in distance while switching to the grass in his second attempt. The colt tired when sprinting on the dirt in his debut Aug. 1 and is breaking from the rail today. Look for a much better effort today with the changes.
