Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #6 (SALTY SMILE) (7-2) - Daughter of 'Bellamy Road' is one of four first-time starters running. God barn (Rudy Rodriguez) has picked it up over the past two weeks and he's had a pair of debuting maidens win first out. Her latest four works are all well above average and he has the second leading rider at this meet (Irad Ortiz Jr.) aboard.
2nd pick: #9 (Under Suspicion) (8-5) - The morning line and probable favorite, she had a well backed useful debut here Aug. 18. Racing at this level going six furlongs she was sent from her inside post on the muddy surface and after setting a pressured pace she tired to finish third. Broman home bred is brought back quickly and her outside post at this seven furlong distance is a plus. A very strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Climb the Ladder) (4-1) - Another filly by 'Bellamy Road', she chased and held to finish a distant second here at this level going 5.5 furlongs July 26. Given a month to recover, trainer Tom Morley stretches her out in distance and he had her work a sharp half-mile Aug. 18. It's an obvious plus that leading rider Jose Ortiz is back on the re-ride.
4th pick: #1 (Asiliveandbreathe) (9-2) - Her first outing July 26 is best viewed as a 'toss.' Well backed at the windows, she acted up before entering the gate and was even more agitated once in. Never involved, she must be given another chance.
