Top pick: #7 (PLUNDERING) (8-1) - Price play raced very wide and evenly here at this level and distance July 27. He was only beaten 3 1/2 lengths and lost more ground than that on the turns. Has a solid shot at a big price.
nd pick: #6 (Giantpatontheback) (4-1) - Much improved of late, he rallied from far back to finish 2nd here July 27 to a heavy favorite. Colt was 1 1/2 better than 'Plundering' that day and is an obvious win candidate.
rd pick: #12 (Ant and Bee) (7-2) - He enters off a career best when he split the top two picks in this contest. He has some positional speed, and Castellano is aboard for the first time. Grey gelding can factor if able to avoid a wide trip from this marooned post.
th pick: #5 (Cody's Notes) (20-1) - No speed type raced very wide last out at Belmont and draws better while stretching out in distance. May grab a minor award at a big price.
th pick: #2 (Street Fightin Man) (15-1) - Lightly raced and well bred he raced wide and evenly at Belmont facing tougher May 31. A good effort, it was his first since Nov. 2nd and first on the turf. Working well, and Irad Ortiz, Jr. (who won five races here yesterday) is back on the re-ride.
