Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (LA CHANCLA) (5-2) - This filly by 'Uncle Mo' sold for $775,000 as a 2yo in training in March of 2018. Unraced last year, she finished a close up and troubled fourth when debuting at this distance May 30 at Churchill Downs. Sent east soon after, she broke her maiden by a 1/2 length going 6.5 furlongs at Belmont July 7. She's been training very fast at the Spa for this attempt and gets top billing.
2nd pick: #3 (Alisio) (3-1) - A Godolphin home bred by 'Ghostzapper', she's been idle since a 7.5 length wire-to-wire maiden win going 6.5 furlongs on a muddy surface at Aqueduct Dec 29. She had finished second in her first two attempts and she breezed a quick half-mile here July 19. 3yo breaks just off the rail and is a serious player in ready off the 7.5 month vacation.
3rd pick: #2 (Graceful Princess) (5-1) - Filly by 'Tapit' won when debuting here Sept. 2 and was sent in at that time for a five month layoff. Competitive in a pair of Gulfstream Park mile contests early this year, she tired badly while wide June 13 at Churchill going around two-turns. She's worked well twice here, is shortening up in distance, and may grab a share with her 'A' game.
4th pick: #7 (Slimey) (9-2) - New York bred has won more races (four) than any entered, but they all came facing weaker. No-speed type rallied to win here going 7 furlongs facing $50K starter-allowance foes July 26 and has now won three of her last four. In shape, experienced, and daughter of 'Quality Road' is a late threat.
