2nd pick: #1 (Imperio D) (7-2) - Improving 3yo was a 'neck' better than 'Brunate' here July 17. The colt has more early speed than most entered, has the rail, and should be in this every step. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #9 (Pier Forty) (4-1) - Back in the spring of 2019, this now 4yo would have been a heavy favorite against this group, but he was injured and did not race again for almost 13.5 months. He tired while wide facing tougher on the grass in his return July 12 at Belmont and is dropping to a new low while switching back to the dirt. He draws well, has blinkers on, and must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #4 (Bank Gala) (12-1) - This is start #19 in his quest for his maiden win. He has many in the past that make him a threat if repeatable, and they came facing tougher. Price play.
