Top pick: #1 (LITTLE MISS BROWN) (3-1) - She has the rail and also the best early speed of this group of maiden fillies & mares. Daughter of Derby & Preakness winner "Big Brown" has finished second in two of her last three starts, and trainer Mike Matz is off to a very strong start at this meet.

nd pick: #4 (Stormkeeper) (4-1) - Speaking of "hot" trainers, Graham Motion had two more wins on yesterday's card, and that gives him six so far and puts him his second place behind Todd Pletcher. This 4yo daughter of "Stormy Atlantic" is stretching out in distance after finishing second & third in her first pair sprinting on the turf. Win candidate.

rd pick: #7 (Costenia) (5-1) - Well bred filly showed little last out on the Monmouth dirt in her first off a private trainer switch to Todd Pletcher. He moves her back to the grass and drops her into a claimer for the first time. Daughter of "Giant's Causeway" showed some talent this past winter at Gulfstream, and it's noted that J.J. Castellano is aboard today.

th pick: #12 (Dreaming of Kitten) (20-1) - Filly raced both wide & evenly facing tougher at Belmont on June 20. It was her first off a Danny Gargan claim and a subsequent two month freshening. He drops her down, and daughter of "Kitten's Joy" can factor if she can avoid a wide trip from this marooned post.

th pick: #2 (Shaikha) (8-1) - The fields most experienced maiden, she's finished second in six of 14 grass starts with many of those coming against tougher. She's been competitive in both starts since coming off a two month break in early June, and this filly has a strong closing kick. Don't just dismiss.
