Top pick: #1 (Jonathan Sheppard trained entry of 1-1a-1x) (7-5) - "Hall of Famer" Jonathan Sheppard usually dominates the 7 steeplechase races held at this meet but this year has played "second fiddle" to veteran Jack Fisher. However, I believe he has all three parts of this entry: #1-ITALIAN WEDDING 1a-DIVINE FORTUNE and 1X-MARTINI BROTHER all sitting on big efforts and you get all three for the same ticket.
2nd pick: #3 (Mr Hot Stuff) (7-2) - He's been sharp in three of four starts this year, and last out was a decisive winner on this course in the "A.P. Smithwick Memorial Chase" (G1). He has excellent flat speed to compliment his jumping ability and is a threat right back.
3rd pick: #5 (Hunt Ball) (15-1) - He jumped poorly in the recent "Smithwick," but it was his first race in four months and first since this Irish-bred came to North America. He kept extremely good company over-seas and he may run much better with that comebacker out of the way. He's also trained by Sheppard, but runs as a separate betting interest.
