Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (MODEM) (5-2) - Like all entered in this rich 'Jump' stakes, he's been pointed towards it all year. Veteran rallied to finish 2nd in this last year and began 2018 with a sharp 2nd place finish in the G1 Iroquois on May 12. He gets a slim edge today.
2nd pick: #1 (Iranistan) (3-1) - One of two entered by 'Hall of Fame' trainer Jonathan Sheppard, and the pair race uncoupled. Undefeated (three for three) since converting to 'Jump' racing, he has excellent early speed and is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Overwhelming) (12-1) - I like the fact that trainer Jack Fisher gave this veteran a turf start at Suffolk Downs July 8. That should have him sharp for this attempt, and this 8yo will be a big price.
4th pick: #3 (All the Way Jose) (3-1) - The second of the pair from trainer Sheppard, he's a former steeplechase champion, and he finished 3rd in this stakes last year, almost two lengths in back of 'Modem.' He's been sub-par in both starts this year, but is still capable of impacting with his 'A' game.
