Top pick: #5 (RAPID REPAIR) (5-2) - Lightly raced filly by "Arch" was scratched out of a shorter race on yesterday's card to await this spot. Speedy sort moves back to the turf after a pair of back-to-back second place finishes on the Belmont dirt, and looks to be the controlling speed. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Engaginglee) (3-1) - Following an even effort when debuting on the Gulfstream dirt on Feb. 1, this filly has gone 3-0-2-1 since trainer Dale Romans moved her to the turf. One run type finished second on June 28 going 8.5-furlongs, and should enjoy this longer trip.
3rd pick: #8 (Smart Ashley) (9-2) - The field's most experienced maiden, grey daughter of "Smart Strike" has gone 7-0-2-4 on the turf at this level, and ships here from Churchill Downs in shape. Stalker should be a factor in this afternoon's opener.
4th pick: #1 (Magnolia Lane) (6-1) - Well bred filly has disappointed a number of times, and last out was almost 12-lengths back of "Rapid Repair" on the Belmont dirt. Daughter of "Street Cry" has the rail and has clearly proven that she prefers grass to dirt. Working well, and a stretch threat at a square price.
