(# 6) JOHN THE MAITRE D - Numbers moved way up in his first two start this year as a newly turned three year old. Not unusual with the growth that occurs in horses from two to three. Gelding has really only run one sub-par race in 10, and that came in final start of 2006 after which he was given well deserved rest after having started eight times as a two year old. Has been rested for six weeks and can fire fresh off the bench as witnessed by his initial run in 2007.

(# 3) Outside Looking In - Claimed from Mike Mitchell by Juan Garcia last out. Hit the highest number that any of these has attained to date in that race. No works since the claim but that was only three weeks ago and runner was apparently fit that day. Good spotting by the trainer for his initial run for new connections.

(# 1) Chileian Gold - Popular horse at the claim box as he's changed barns four times in brief career. He's also been in the barn of three of the more notorious claiming trainers in Miyadi, Mullins and Knapp. Ran a rather blah fourth last out just sitting on the rail the entire race.

(# 4) Ymustichasethecat - Eurton runner won around two turns in last, but got a very good pace set-up for his closing tactics. May not be as fortunate today.
