Top pick: #7 (DELTA FLOWER) (4-1) - New face on the coast, Arkansas-bred ships off a pair of back-to-back wins at Oaklawn park. She defeated open maiden special weights to get her maiden win on March 8th, then was an easy winner of a $75K stste-bred stakes three weeks later. She has a new trainer (Jerry Hollendorfer 31% with new arrivals), is working fast on this strip, and stalker has plenty of speed to her left in the gate. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Empress of Midway) (3-1) - Lightly-raced and well-bred, filly has been freshened up since finishing a pace-chasing second in the $200K "Sunland Park Oaks" on March 23rd. She broke her maiden here Feb. 28, is working fast and ships back from Churchill where she did not get to run in the "Kentucky Oaks" (G1). Strong factor today.
3rd pick: #4 (Satirical) (5-2) - Strong finisher rallied to win "going away" when debuting here on March 8th, then raced evenly in a small stakes five weeks later in her first facing winners. Working well since, she would benefit greatly if the pace is fast and/or contested.
4th pick: #2 (Midnight Dream) (7-2) - She exits the same April 11th stake as "Satirical" and she held to finish third after chasing a fast pace. Working fast since and don't believe we've seen the best of her yet.
