Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #8 (BATTLEGROUND STATE) (3-1) - One of two entered by trainer Neil Drysdale and both are lightly raced 3-year-olds who have strong chances at winning this. Freshened up since July 20, she rallied while wide to lose by a 1/2 length at this level and distance at Del Mar. Gets a slight edge.
nd pick: #10 (Rolling Shadow) (9-2) - The second of the Drysdale trained fillies, she rallied to finish a close up third Sept. 1 at Del Mar racing at this level and distance. It was her first on the grass and a huge improvement over her dirt debut July 26.
rd pick: #4 (Halo Ahead) (4-1) - Speed/stalker has been competitive in four straight and was only a 1/2 length in back of 'Rolling Shadow' last out. Blinkers go on and 3-year-old must be left in the mix.
th pick: #9 (Gee Street) (4-1) - Strong finisher has been beaten by three lengths or under in her last four starts. Home bred would love a fast/and or contested pace to rally into.
th pick: #6 (Hotsy Dotsy) (20-1) - Longshot is not a win threat, but could get a minor award if the pace begins to come back to the field during the stretch run.
