Top pick: #1 (MR LEMON TREE) (4-1) - Lightly raced colt comes off a career best when he finished a pace-setting second at this level at Del Mar on Aug. 25th. Race was his second off an 11 month break, and his first ever on the grass. He has the rail, is working fast, and is the horse to beat.
nd pick: #7 (Brave Act) (7-2) - He's been competitive in all his grass starts, and when last in action he finished second racing at Del Mar on July 31. Working fast locally, and he's run well here in the past (2-0-1-1).
rd pick: #10 (Empty Handed) (5-1) - No speed type comes off a career best when he finished second here at this level and distance just 10 days ago. He draws a tough outside post and will need some pace help.
th pick: #2 (Rob's Pal) (8-1) - Gelding is racing back into shape following a six month absence, and last out rallied to finish third, only 1 1/2 lengths back of "Lemon." Trainer Jeff Mullins has worked him five times since, and this home-bred by "Vronsky" is nearing his best.
th pick: #3 (Accomplish) (8-1) - He goes "poly" to turf, and stretches out in distance after finishing a rally second when debuting at this level in a Del Mar sprint Aug. 28th.
