2nd pick: #8 (Paddock Pick) (3-1) - Speedy sort has been freshened up for the past two months. Working fast, he's been sharp in three of his last four dirt sprints and is bred to like the switch to the turf.
3rd pick: #5 (Data Central) (9-2) - Out of action since Aug. 12, he missed by a 1/2-length that afternoon going a mile on the Del Mar grass at this level. Heavily backed that day (8-5), he has a fine series of local works on view, and is dangerous if ready.
4th pick: #1 (Stonegate) (5-1) - One of two making their debuts, $230,000 purchase has some very fast works on his a.m tab. It's noted that the very selective Victor Espinoza is signed on by John Sadler (18% first out).
