Top pick: #1 (SERENE MELODY) (4-1) - Home-bred by "Street Cry" raced evenly here at this level and distance on May 22. Only beaten about two lengths, it was her first since Dec. 5th, and she's worked twice since. Trainer John Shirreffs has her set for a big effort.
nd pick: #7 (Sweet as a Rose) (6-1) - Improving filly comes off a career best when she stalked and bid to a short lead before weakening very late to finish on equal terms with "Serene Melody" on May 22. She's worked fast since and is a strong win candidate.
rd pick: #6 (Kristinite) (8-1) - Lightly raced filly moves up in class and stretches out in distance after finishing second here going 6.5-furlongs for a $75K tag on May 11. It washer first race in 11 months, and grey 3yo has been working bullets since.
th pick: #9 (Twisted Purpose) (8-1) - Daughter of "Hard Spun" hasn't raced since late July when she just failed at this level running on the Del Mar lawn. 4yo is from the same barn as "Kristinite" (Kristin Mulhall), and she can factor if ready.
th pick: #10 (Fable) (6-1) - Strong finisher finished second in both starts at the Fair Grounds this past winter and is racing off almost a four month break. Daughter of turf champ "English Channel" has a new trainer (Ted West) and should be closing fast.
