Top pick: #3 (DANCINGINTHESTREET) (4-1) - Darley home-bred made a strong bid to almsot reach the front, then tired to finish 4th at Hollywood on Dec 21st. It was her first in 80 days, first on the turf, and trainer Eoin Harty adds lasix this afternoon. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #10 (Practising) (3-1) - English invader ran 2nd in both appearsnce there last summer, the latest a neck defeat at Doncaster on July 25th. Training nicely for her return, she's in a new barn (Carl O'Callaghan) and he adds lasix for her North American debut.
rd pick: #11 (Sierra Electrica) (12-1) - Filly raced very wide and evenly after breaking from a tough outside post going 6-furlongs at Hollywood on Dec 14. It was a good effort and came off a 70 day freshening. Daughter of "Tapit" has worked fast since and must be left in the mix.
th pick: #8 (One More) (15-1) - Longshot has fine early speed and will be going dirt to turf and stretching out in distance as she runs 2nd off almost a half-years absence. Bred for the surface and she's dangerous at a big price.
th pick: #2 (Kitten de Pere) (5-1) - One of two entered by trainer Tom Proctor, she rallied up the rail to finish 2nd at this level and distance at Hollywood on Dec 21st. Solid effort, but believe this field is much tougher and she may be over-bet a bit. A factor nontheless.
