Top pick: #8 (SEEKING ASYLUM) (4-1) - He's had trouble of some sort in his first two starts and will be dropping into a claimer for the first time today. Gelding rallied to finish third here in his debut after having some serious traffic issues turning for home, then raced evely last out after encountering some trouble at the start. Working well and the drop and a clean trip can lead to the win.
2nd pick: #10 (Sooo Major) (9-2) - He's rallied to finish second in two of his four appearances and did so on this surface on Oct. 12. He draws a nice outside post at this 7-furlong trip and is a late threat.
3rd pick: #9 (Regal Randy) (8-1) - Heavily bet last out, he tired after being involved in a speed duel after having to be sent hard from his rail post. The move out in gate is a big plus and he had a very quick 5-furlong work here on Dec. 27.
4th pick: #4 (Head South) (12-1) - Lightly-raced gelding exits the same last race as "Randy" and was part of the speed-duel that day that left both "gasping" down the stretch. Working fast locally and this is his first on real dirt. Price play.
