He finished second last fall at Churchill on the dirt in the "Clark" hdcp (G2) at this distance, then last out in late December he finished second in the "Malibu" (G1) on this surface going 7 furlongs. Speed/stalker is training sharply for this and he can be placed just about anywhere with his flexible running style. The top pick.
2nd pick: #10 (Smart Bid) - Lightly raced and improving, he wasn't that far behind the top choice in the "Malibu" and then finished a strong second to the talented "Papa Clem" last out in the "San Fernando" (G2). Speed/stalker is a threat from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #2 (Massone) - He hasn't raced on a synthetic surface since he finished fourth to the top pick last July at Hollywood Park in the "Swaps"(G2). Training well and he can "run all day." Factors today.
4th pick: #8 (Rendevous) - Has some quality and was only a bit more than a length off of "Smart Bid" last out. Hard-hitter rarely runs a poor race and could reach the exotics.
