Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (TRUE BRILLIANCE) (3-1) - Home bred has been on the sidelines since debuting here May 15 at this level going 4.5 furlongs. Gelding by 'Unusual Heat' fought it out with multiple future stakes winner 'Found Money' and settled for 2nd, beaten by a 1/2 length. Working nicely, including a near bullet five-furlong gate drill here Dec. 10th.
nd pick: #5 (Lost Dutchman) (7-1) - One of two entered by trainer Doug O'Neill, this home bred is working very fast for his debut. Colt worked a bullet five furlongs from the gate here in :58.60 Dec. 20th. Win candidate.
rd pick: #10 (Demonslayer) (7-1) - He finished last of four, beaten by 1 1/2 lengths when debuting at this level and distance Nov. 28th at Del Mar. It's hard to get a gauge on small fields like that, but he was bet down to favoritism, is working nicely since, and Bejarano stays aboard.
th pick: #12 (Ward 'n Jerry) (6-1) - Colt raced both wide and evenly when debuting here June 13. Working steadily for his return, and he can factor today at a square price.
th pick: #1 (Etailer) (5-1) - The second of the O'Neill pair, he ran 3rd when debuting Nov. 28th at Del Mar. He was just under a length better than 'Demonslayer' that afternoon. He draws a tricky post at this distance and will need to avoid any traffic issues heading into the turn.
