Top pick: #5 (INDIGO RIVER) - This small stakes features three fillies who began their careers in Europe and this Irish-bred broke her maiden in her native country on August 15th and did so facing males. She followed that up with a third-place finish in her first facing winners, again facing male rivals. Shipped to the states last October, she was a winner here at this "tricky' trip Jan. 13 in her first start for trainer Jeff Mullins. One of two who has won here going "down the Hill", and the choice in a very competitive contest.
2nd pick: #3 (She Spirit Di Su) - Another Irish-bred, she rallied from far back to break her maiden on this course going a mile on Jan. 13. Race was her first since late August, first in this country, and first for trainer Simo Callaghan, who yesterday's (G2) San Marcos Stakes. Stretch threat.
3rd pick: #8 (Dijarvo) - English-bred filly has run well in all her starts (4-2-2-0) and won an under graded stakes in France last June. Working fast for her first race in eight months and a win candidate if ready.
