Top pick: #7 (WARREN'S VENEDA) (3-1) - Mare has really stepped it up since returning from a two month layoff last fall. She enters off a pair of back-to-back stakes wins here and before that was beaten a "head" in a G2 at Los Alamitos. Working fast and this 1 1/8th mile distance is a plus for this strong finisher.
2nd pick: #3 (Dame Dorothy) (5-2) - Lightly-raced and very talented, she ships from Gulfstream where she won a $150K stakes going 7-furlongs on Jan. 17. She's won 5-of-6 overall and finished a close up third in the G3 Comely in late Nov. in her only loss. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Cassatt) (7-2) - Grey filly has won six of overall and enters with three consecutive stakes win. Speedy daughter of "Tapit" gets a serious class test today, but trainer Larry Jones had her working fast at the Fair Grounds before heading west. Dangerous.
4th pick: #6 (Uzziel) (12-1) - She ran a career best when finishing second to "Warren's Veneda" Feb. 14. Filly has a flexible style and could grab another minor award with a repeat of that effort.
