Top pick: #4 (FIFTYSHADESOFHAY) (2-1) - One of two entered by the Baffert barn, consistent daughter of "Pulpit" has gone 9-3-3-3 racing on conventional dirt, and is 5-1-2-2 on this main track. All three of her dirt wins have come in stakes, including the (G2) "Black Eyed Susan" last May at Pimlico, and last out finished second at Hollywood to today's rival "Broken Sword." Think she can reverse that decision this afternoon.
2nd pick: #5 (Broke Sword) (8-5) - One of two from trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, and this filly is the probable favorite. She enters with two wins in a row, the latest a career best when defeating today's top pick on the Hollywood "poly" on Dec. 7th. Obvious win candidate, but at a short price.
3rd pick: #2 (Ondine) (4-1) - The second of the Baffert trained fillies, stalker is working fast locally for her first since Sept. 6th, and has a fine local record (3-1-2-0). Well-bred, lightly raced, and still improving. In the three-horse win mix.
4th pick: #1 (Let Faith Arise) (12-1) - The second of the Hollendorfer pair, she has a strong closing kick, and won a sprint stakes last June at Pleasanton in her only previous start on conventional dirt. Working very fast, and a threat at a big price.
