Top pick: #9 (ACATEGORYFIVESTORM) (5-1) - Lightly-raced grey filly was an impressive gate-to-wire maiden winner Sept. 21 at Los Alamitos racing for a $20K tag at this trip. By far a career best, she was bet down to 2-1 that afternoon and trainer Dan Blacker has her nicely spotted in her first against winners. She has room for upside and I like her chances.
2nd pick: #11 (Bunuska) (7-5) - The probable favorite, lightly-raced filly by the speedy "Henny Hughes" was razor sharp at Del Mar in her first pair and has been freshened up since Aug. 21. Working well locally and an obvious threat if she handles the conventional dirt.
3rd pick: #3 (Bird in Love) (12-1) - She finished second here at this tag going 6.5-furlongs on Sept. 26 and one-run type is shortening up a furlong. It was her first in blinkers and she should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into.
4th pick: #8 (Swiss Heart) - She just missed two back for a $16K tag at Los Alamitos, then raced evenly here when checking in a non-threatening fourth at this level Sept. 26. May grab a minor award with one her better efforts.
