Top pick: #10 (STEEL LADY) (9-5) - The probable favorite, she's finished second in both starts on the Del Mar "poly" at this level and was only beaten a "nose' in her latest. Home bred has been working fast here, draws a nice post at this trip, and Bejarano stays aboard.
nd pick: #5 (Fast Magoo) (7-2) - Speedy filly has improved in both starts since her debut and last out ran a solid second on the real dirt at Los Alamitos. She had finished third in her previous race and was 1 1/2 back of "Steel Lady" that afternoon. Win candidate.
rd pick: #3 (Our Love Affair) (4-1) - She rallied to finish second when debuting on the Los Al dirt on July 5th. The winner that day came right back to score again and this 4-year-old must be left in the mix.
th pick: #1 (Charming Starlet) (8-1) - Improving filly ships down from Golden Gate where she ran second there on the "poly" on Sept. 7. One-run type ran a career best that day, is working fast locally, and has a shot at a square price.
th pick: #8 (Desert Madam) (15-1) - No-speed type has been freshened up since Aug. 17 and has some races in her past that could land her a share at long odds if repeatable.
