It was her first race in 6 months and 3-year-old is an obvious contender in this spot as trainer Rich Baltas removes her blinkers.
3rd pick: #7 (Gia Lula) (9-2) - Daughter of the versatile 'Gio Ponti' moves up in class following a second place finish here at this trip for a $50K tag April 5. By far a career best, it was her first race since Oct. 15, first in a claimer, and only her second in six starts on the grass. In the mix.
4th pick: #5 (She's Legit) (5-1) - $130K purchase had some traffic issues when beaten just under 4 lengths here at this distance facing tougher April 22. It was a useful debut for this 4-year-old and trainer Peter Miler has her dropping down while it's a big plus that the very selective Victor Espinoza stays aboard.
